The bespoke suit, step by step

From the first consultation to delivery, discover what happens at each stage of creating a bespoke suit.

The bespoke suit, step by step

Ordering a bespoke suit means accepting to take time. Time to understand each other, to choose, to try on. Here are the main stages of an order at FRANCISBOUM.

1. The consultation

Everything starts with a conversation. For what occasion? How often will you wear it? What bearing do you wish to assert? These questions guide every choice that follows.

2. Measurements and fabrics

We take more than thirty measurements and observe your posture: a lower shoulder, a marked arch — so many details the pattern will have to take into account. Then comes the choice of cloths, linings and buttons.

A successful suit is not noticed: it reveals the man who wears it.

3. The fittings

The jacket is first basted — assembled with large white stitches — for a first fitting. This is where we sculpt the drape and adjust the shoulders and sleeve length.

4. Delivery

After the hand finishing, your piece is handed over with our care advice. It is made to last for years.
